Application for Distinction

The Order of the European Lion recognises individuals who distinguish themselves through courage, perseverance, and exceptional merit within society.

An application for a distinction can only be submitted for another person – self‑nominations are not permitted.

Procedure

Request a registration form through our contact form on our website.

Complete the form fully with the details of the nominee and the applicant.

Attach any letters of recommendation or supporting documents.

Sign the form and ensure all declarations are completed correctly.

Important Conditions

• The application must be submitted by an independent person (no family members, no self‑nomination).

• To ensure reliability, each nomination must be supported in writing by two additional persons.

• The nominee must act in accordance with the values of the Order of the European Lion

. • Incomplete or unsigned applications will not be processed.

• The Chapter reserves the right to request additional information.

Assessment

Upon receipt of the dossier, the Chapter of the Order of the European Lion will carefully evaluate the application.

The Chapter meets twice a month in a closed session to discuss applications, approve or reject them, and decide which grade of distinction will be awarded. The decision of the Chapter is final and irrevocable and will be communicated in writing by email to the applicant.

Further details will also be discussed regarding the sending of the certificate or the presentation of the distinction during a ceremonial event.

If you choose to receive only the certificate, with or without the medal (additional cost), it can be sent by registered mail.
